TWG - 29th April

Welcome everyone to The Wednesday Group, and our first online group meeting!

I hope that you've not found it too difficult to get here. Creating a session online is a little easier than creating it in an email and for you, the links are all in one place. So here we go...

What do(n't) I believe?

Begin by spending a moment in quietness. But, you say, I’ve been like that all day!
Taking a lead from last week, still yourself now and prepare to hear from God. Share a thought for people like Steff who cannot pick up these notes.

Sing/listen to "Great is thy faithfulness” - note some less familiar verses...

I know it’s a few weeks since Easter but read out loud, all of John 20.

I wonder if you, like me, have been thinking of the various biblical events that happened after Jesus rose from the dead. There was an incident about a week after Jesus rose…

When Thomas met them in the week, the disciples told him how they had met Jesus and seen his hands and side. Thomas appears to be indignant and seems to want the same proof.
  • How much do we seek the same relationship with Jesus that others have in their lives?
  • When Thomas met Jesus later, he uttered those memorable words. If Jesus were to walk into your living room now, what would go through your mind - what might you say?
  • Why did Jesus do other signs in the presence of his disciples?
  • Read and meditate on John 14:12-14 MSG?
 Listen to Matt Redman ‘Questions’

Remember this coming week that God knows we have doubts and questions. However, God is faithful and has never let anyone down; what lets us down are our own expectations.

It seems that every time Jesus met his disciples and friends after his resurrection he begins with "Peace be with You".  I hope you find his peace this week and pass it on where you can.
